In less than a week, ETC will be at SXSW in Austin, TX!
This year, according to the SXSW website, the conference has been streamlined into one unified event with 24 tracks of programming. They’re also offering more opportunities for networking, learning, and discovery. Badge holders will continue to receive primary entry to programs that are associated with their badge type, but now, they can also enjoy secondary access to other SXSW events.
A new addition to the SXSW Job Market stage is the live competition component that is open to participants from around the world. The idea is that people will have to show off their skills and compete head-to-head for in-demand jobs, and they will then be ranked based on their speed and accuracy in an online leaderboard. Winners of the competition will receive a Platinum Badge to either SXSW 2017 or 2018. It’s completely free to enter, and those who want to compete can still pre-register.
In this year’s exhibitions, a new feature is the SXSW Marketplace, which will bring local Austin boutiques and some national/global brands together to create a fascinating shopping experience for attendees. This exhibition will be located inside the Austin Convention Center, and will be open to all badge holders and local visitors.
A greater part of the conference seems to be focused on artificial intelligence, social impact, and entertainment influencers than in previous years due to various developments in technology — some of which will be showcased in the conference’s Experiential Storytelling track.
